The General Department of Airport Security in Dubai recently brought relief to an Arab traveler by reuniting her with a valuable bag she had inadvertently left behind at Airport Terminal 1. The incident involved the discovery of a black bag containing a substantial sum of money, precious metals, and personal devices.

Contents of the Lost Bag and Identification Process

Colonel Abdullah Faisal Al-Dosari, Director of the Airport Terminal 1 Security Department, elaborated on the discovery. An airport employee found the black bag in an accessible area. A subsequent inspection revealed its contents: $20,000 in cash, 150 grams of gold, additional foreign currency, several mobile phones, and various personal documents. These documents were crucial in identifying the owner.

It was found that she was about to leave the country for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Despite possessing the owner's identity through the documents, the challenge lay in locating and contacting her, as no formal report of a lost item matching the description had been filed. This necessitated the formation of a dedicated team to trace her movements within the airport.

Colonel Al-Dosari further explained that the airport's operations room was alerted, and protocols were initiated to establish contact with the traveler. It was discovered that she was on the verge of departing for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The traveler was reportedly in considerable distress over the loss of her bag and uncertain about the steps to take, fearing she might miss her scheduled flight.

Following the completion of necessary legal procedures and verification of her permits and documents, Dubai Police successfully returned the bag to its rightful owner. The traveler conveyed her profound gratitude and appreciation for the diligent efforts of the Dubai Police, commending their commitment to recovering lost possessions and assisting travelers.
